In the Philippines, Independence Day is celebrated to commemorate the country’s freedom and sovereignty from the numerous oppressors that have reign the country for numerous years. The highlight of this event is the Independence Day ceremony and parade which is lead by the Philippine President. As part of the Independence Day tradition, the Philippine flag is raised simultaneously in different historical landmarks in the country.
Also, the Philippine Independence is not only celebrated in the country, it is also celebrated by the Filipino Community in different parts of the world.
